'Another Evening with the President'
'The Black Country Wench'
19 November 2021 at The Court House, Dudley
If you were there you will know, it was a well planned and thoroughly entertaining
night arranged by the President (Marlene Watson).
The evening started with John Lines who is a great guitarist and singer. John has a wonderful way of 'warming up' the audience and his professionalism won everyone over in a lovely 'sing-song'.
David Bartley followed John and is by all accounts the most magical of 'wordsmiths'. The audience were enraptured by his poems, anecdotes and stories. It was a wonderful, stimulating performance.
The third act was Joe James Thomas who demonstrated his amazing musicianship on three different instruments throughout his set. Joe started with the ukelele with a selection of George Formby songs. He progressed to the acoustic guitar with a rendering of "Elvis" songs and finished on the electric piano with some lively 'rock and roll' numbers. He is an outstanding performer and got his audience involved from the start.
Well done Marlene for bringing everyone together and making it 'Another Night to Remember'!
