Message from the Membership Secretary

October, 2021

Dear Black Country Society Member,

The Society had managed to keep the annual subscription the same for over 10 years and received membership payment via different methods including Bank Standing Order as and when renewals were due.

In the Spring of this year members voted unanimously to raise annual subscriptions to reflect rising costs in producing and posting our flagship magazine The Blackcountryman, and to help ensure the continuing financial stability of the Society. The increase was announced in the magazine and on the website.

Subscription Rates became :-

Individual.................................................... £17.50

Couples....................................................   £20.00

Schools, Colleges, etc...............................     £17.50

Non-UK Residents......................................   £30.00

The Society would be grateful if all members would increase their Standing Order with their bank and arrange to pay the increase (ie £5.00) from the old subscription rate (e.g. £12.50 individual) to the above rates for each category. If the difference has not been paid, please would members send a cheque made out to the Black Country Society to me at the address below.

You may also wish to consider payment by Bank Transfer in which case the Society bank details are :-

Bank  -  HSBC UK Bank plc, Wednesbury Branch

Account Name  -  The Black Country Society

Account Number  -  41083279       Sort Code  -  40-19-02

Thank you for your continuing support and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best Wishes and Good Health,

Yours Sincerely,

Tony Ridge
